Plastic-Free Focus
In 2019, we participated in Plaststafetten (The Plastic Relay) together with Strawberry to eliminate unnecessary plastic. Today, we have completely phased out single-use items such as plastic cutlery, takeaway containers, disposable cups, and plastic straws.
Water & Energy

Local Resources: Our water is sourced directly from Lake Vättern, and we do not purchase any bottled water.

Smart Consumption: Rooms are only cleaned during an ongoing stay at the guest’s request, saving water, electricity, and the use of chemicals.

Renewable Energy: The property is heated using district heating and electricity from renewable sources (wind, water, and residual products), and cooling is produced locally using Lake Vättern’s cold water.

Smart Lighting & Temperature: Lights are turned off when areas are not in use, motion sensors in the bathrooms automatically control lighting to reduce energy consumption, and room climate control automatically adjusts to an energy-saving mode during absence to avoid unnecessary energy consumption.
Transport

Coordinated Deliveries: We plan our purchasing to consolidate deliveries and minimize the number of transports to and from the hotel.

Reduced Cleaning Needs: Since room cleaning during a stay is done upon request, the volume of laundry is reduced, which in turn leads to fewer heavy transports.

Digital Meetings & Climate Tracking: We prioritize digital meetings over business travel and track all completed trips in our internal system to reduce our travel-related impact.
Responsible Chemical Management
All chemicals are classified into red, yellow, and green categories. Our goal is to keep chemical consumption under 12 grams per guest night, and we use natural alternatives such as vinegar for cleaning.
Mindful Food Choices
Thoughtful Selections & Food Waste Smart

Palm Oil and Red-Listed Fish: Palm oil is used to a very limited extent in our selection. We continuously work to reduce its use and avoid products where palm oil cannot be verified as sustainably produced. We also follow a red list of endangered species that are never served at our hotel.

Reduced Food Waste: In our restaurant kitchen, we weigh waste every day and sort at source what must be thrown away. When developing new dishes and menus, we select ingredients based on how they can be used to minimize waste.
People & Society
Employees & Diversity
People are at the core of our operations. At Vox Hotel, employees from more than 14 countries work together, and 50% of the managers at the hotel are women. We measure employee satisfaction monthly via surveys from Peakon and actively work with diversity alongside the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen).
Local Community Engagement

Lonely Christmas Tree Seeking Presents: Every December, we collect Christmas gifts in the foyer for local families in need, while Strawberry donates money to UNICEF.

Key to the Future: As part of Strawberry, we support the UNICEF initiative Key to the Future, which provides vital support to children and young people fleeing war and conflict. During launch week, we invited guests, employees, and the local community to show their support by hanging up hearts at the hotel. We also participate in Pulse for UNICEF, where employees across Strawberry collect emergency kits through physical activity, step challenges, and workouts during project weeks.

Human Rights & Pride: We support diversity and participate annually in the local Pride parade, as well as supporting Jönköping Qom Ut and UNICEF’s work against human trafficking.

Ethical Requirements for Suppliers: All our suppliers must adhere to our ethical guidelines regarding working conditions, environmental efforts, and animal welfare, among other standards.
